Which Corporate Logo Golf Balls are the Best?

I am frequently asked two common questions :-

 

Question 1 : “What are the best golf balls?”

 

Question 2 : “Titleist are the best golf balls aren’t they? Other brands of golf balls are not as good, are they?

 

 

As a golf professional I have full access to, and the knowledge to understand, the very best trade “insider” information on golf ball technology.

 

All of the golf ball manufacturers produce a full range of golf balls from the budget distance golf balls to the top of the range golf balls that the professionals play with.

 

The quality of each manufacturer’s golf balls are all very similar.

World Number One, Rory McIlroy has recently changed manufacturers from Titleist to Nike, both make great golf balls but perhaps the $200+ million, ten year contract had a little to do with Rory’s decision! Who can blame him, certainly not me for one, but what I am saying is that Rory made a sound business decision safe in the knowledge that the all of the top maufacturers all make high quality golf balls and like for like products.
Another World Top Ten player Luke Donald has stayed loyal to the Titleist Pro V1 x Golf Balls whilst Tiger Woods has remained with Nike since 1997.

 

Justin Rose uses Taylormade Penta Golf Balls to guide him down the fairways whilst the recent winner of the World Challenge, Graeme McDowell plays the Srixon Z-Star Golf ball. 

 

Other of the World’s Top Ten Golfers, Louis Osterhuizen, Adam Scott, Bubba Watson and Lee Westwood all play the Titleist Pro V1 Golf Ball.

If any of these great golfers thought for just one minute that they would get just a 1% advantage by playing another type of golf ball then would they change to another brand of golf balls? Of course they would!

 

I am not “knocking” any of the golf ball manufacturers at all, it is just that there are obvious comparisons to make. Proving that all of the golf ball manufacturers produce top end golf balls, mid range golf balls and also budget golf balls.

 

Titleist would also argue that more Golf Professionals on the PGA Tour play with Titleist Golf Balls than any other brand of golf ball! 

This is true and in addition to that fact, Titleist are also the best selling corporate golf ball by miles…..

 

Another interesting fact is that Bridgestone Golf of Japan hold many of the technology patents and IPR used in the worlds leading golf balls. Bridgestone Golf are “huge” in Japan and in the USA but at the moment don’t have as wide a coverage in the UK.

 

1 : The best golf balls are the ones that your customer “has heard of” and whose price is “within their budget”

 

2 : All of the golf ball manufacturers produce a full range of golf balls from the budget distance golf balls to the top of the range golf balls that the professionals play with. So it is wrong to compare one company against another, it is correct to compare the budget ball from company A against the budget ball from company B, or the top of the range golf ball from company A  against the top of the range golf ball from company B. Then you have a true comparison.
