Just back from a very enjoyable and first ever trip to Mumbai, India.
We had a great time visiting with our friends and suppliers whilst enjoying fantastic hospitality in an amazing city.
I thought that London was busy, but our capital has nothing compared to Mumbai in terms of volume of people!
With around 15 million people and a population density of over 27.000 people per square km and over one hundred thousand taxis made for a vibrant atmosphere!
But we were ably guided around by hotel services and we managed to see many of the world famous sights of the city.
We were fortunate to stay at the iconic Taj Palace Hotel which was an amazing experience, one of the finest hotels that we have ever stayed in, a quiet sanctuary away from the constant buzz of city life.

Whilst unfortunately not managing to fit any golf in to the schedule, I did at least manage to visit the exclusive Willingdon Golf club in Mumbai and spent some with their PGA Professional, Sreekanth Nagraj. It is always nice to meet with a fellow PGA Professional especially at the other side of the world and “talk shop” for a while. The golf club is an oasis in the centre of the city as the photograph below shows.

Sreekanth has a busy teaching diary as well as being one of the leading suppliers of golf equipment in Mumbai. I walked a couple of holes and with the 30 degree weather; I must admit that I was tempted to play but I just couldn’t find the time, next time maybe….
